Following Donald Trump’s cancellation of today’s housing bill signing, Milwaukee County Executive and gubernatorial candidate David Crowley released the following statement:

“Every day this housing affordability bill remains unsigned is another day relief is delayed for families struggling with rising rents, high housing costs, and the dream of homeownership slipping further out of reach.”

“This issue is personal to me. I didn’t grow up with housing security, and I know firsthand how stable, affordable housing can change the trajectory of a family’s life. That’s why we should be doing everything possible to lower housing costs and expand access to affordable homes. Relief cannot sit on a desk while working families struggle to make ends meet. Wisconsinites need action, not more delays.”

“Tom Tiffany’s silence speaks volumes. Donald Trump is delaying housing relief for the Badger State, and Tiffany won’t even call on him to sign the bill. That’s because Tom has shown time and again that he’ll support whatever Donald Trump wants, regardless of the consequences for Wisconsin.”

“Wisconsin families need a governor who will stand up to Washington when they’re being left behind. Tom Tiffany is a MAGA loyalist who puts Donald Trump’s interests first. Wisconsin can’t afford a governor who is more focused on pleasing Trump than lowering costs for working families.”
