The Democratic Attorneys General Association is up with its first ad in Wisconsin’s race, knocking Republican Eric Toney for letting “the worst off easy.”

The group’s People’s Lawyer Project filed an independent expenditure report with the state detailing $723,479 spent on TV and digital ads. Meanwhile, AdImpact has tracked $1.2 million in reservations from the group on broadcast and cable TV starting today.

The group released two TV ads, including a 30-second spot that says Toney, the Fond du Lac County DA, dropped over a dozen charges against a man charged with possessing child porn, let another “back on our streets” after he had been accused of repeated child sexual assault, and cut a deal with a man charged with abducting and murdering a teenaged girl.

The narrator says Toney reached plea deals with over 70% of child sexual assault cases before closing the ad, “Eric Toney is easy on them. Unfit for attorney general.”

The buy also includes a 15-second version of the spot.
