DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene was on Wisconsin ABC affiliate WISN’s UPFRONT show over the weekend to talk about two high profile congressional races in the state that will be critical to determining who wins the House Majority in November.DelBene discussed Republicans’ failure to lower costs, their support of tariffs, the war in Iran and health care cuts as reasons why Wisconsin voters were eager for change and ready to reject Bryan Steil and Derrick Van Orden.DelBene highlighted the investments being made to support Mitchell Berman (WI-01) and Rebecca Cooke (WI-03) in their efforts to flip these districts from Red to Blue.See highlights from Chair DelBene’s conversation below: 30 Days Out: Battle for Control of U.S. HouseOn WI-01:
“Families are struggling. We’ve seen the impact of tariffs, cuts to health care, the war raising gas prices, making life harder and harder for families across the country, and absolutely in the first district of Wisconsin. Polling shows this is a toss-up race. People are tired of having a representative who’s a rubber stamp for the president and this administration, a rubber stamp for these policies that have hurt families, so we’re in a strong position. Mitchell Berman’s going to win.”

“Well, you know, having money but no substance doesn’t help you very much. And [Steil’s] got nothing to run on. He has not done anything to understand the pain that families are going through. Has not stood up to represent them. So, even with a lot of money, if you have got nothing to say and aren’t listening to what’s happening on the ground in your community, [it] doesn’t matter. We will have enough resources to make sure people know who Mitchell Berman is. When they do, he wins.”

On WI-03:
“Rebecca Cooke was one of our first candidates that we put on Red to Blue, which is our program for the most competitive races in the country we think are going to flip from Red to Blue.”

On the importance to Wisconsin to the fight for the House Majority:
“You know, they’re critically important. You can see we’re investing here. We know we have strong candidates. That’s really our secret sauce across the country is great candidates who really are deeply connected to their communities.”
