The latest ad from the DCCC and 3rd CD Dem challenger Rebecca Cooke says “DC Derrick” stands for both Washington and data centers.
The 30-second spot is running in the Madison, Minneapolis, La Crosse, Eau Claire and Wausau markets. It’s the second ad from the Cooke campaign and DCCC to run across the 3rd CD.
The ad says U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Prairie du Chien, “took thousands from one of the biggest data center developers” and voted for $70 billion in tax breaks.
“Now, Wisconsin families are paying his tab twice. Once for his massive tax giveaway to data centers. Then again, with higher utility bills,” the narrator says.
The ad cited his support of the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” also known as the Working Families Tax Cut, and a CNN report about utility bill increases related to data centers.
“Looks like DC doesn’t just stand for Washington, it stands for data centers, too. DC Derrick sold us out,” the narrator says.
