As health care costs continue to skyrocket thanks to House Republicans letting ACA tax credits expire, Derrick Van Orden has no one to blame but himself for today’s health care crisis.

Wisconsinites are already experiencing devastatingly higher health care costs because Van Orden let ACA tax credits expire last year – with many Americans even forced to drop their coverage entirely due to higher costs.

REMINDER: Van Orden has consistently attacked Wisconsinites’ access to health care.

  • Van Orden supports a full repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

  • Van Orden voted to pass the largest cuts to Medicaid in history – TWICE.

  • Van Orden put more than 313,500 people at risk of losing health care coverage and becoming uninsured and jeopardized Wisconsin’s rural hospitals.

  • After voting for the largest Medicaid cuts in history and celebrating it, Van Orden tried to cover his tracks by lying that he secured funding for BadgerCare (spoiler alert: he didn’t).

  • Van Orden is to blame for the 30,000 people in WI-03 who are paying an average of 123% more for their health insurance premiums.

Make no mistake: Van Orden was too much of a coward to stand up to his D.C. party bosses when it actually mattered. Now Wisconsinites are paying the price and they’ll hold him accountable in November.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Voters will remember that Derrick Van Orden is already responsible for their skyrocketing health care prices. If Van Orden was ever serious about keeping health care affordable, he would’ve taken action when there was still time to save the tax credits Wisconsinites rely on from expiring to begin with. He’s full of shit and Wisconsin voters see right through him.”
