Van Orden Will Fall in Line with D.C. Party Bosses to Pass National Abortion Ban

Today marks the 53rd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision – a decision that Derrick Van Orden has spent years working to overturn, to rip away women’s freedoms to make their own health care choices.

Here’s your reminder of Van Orden’s commitment to ripping away health care choices from Wisconsin women:

  • Van Orden said that he is “100% pro-life” and opposes abortion because life begins at conception.

  • Van Orden called exceptions for rape and incest “evil” and compared abortion to genocide.

  • Van Orden voted to jail doctors and nurses who provide reproductive health care.

  • Van Orden supported defunding abortion care for U.S. servicemembers

  • Van Orden voted for a backdoor effort to pressure states with established legal protections into gradually stripping away abortion rights.

The bottom line is: Derrick Van Orden’s record proves he is a reliable vote for a national abortion ban.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Derrick Van Orden has worked for years to ban abortion and deny Wisconsin women the right to make their own health care decisions. After years voting to rip away health care, close down reproductive care options, and even jail doctors and nurses, there is no doubt Van Orden will fall in line with his D.C. party bosses and vote to pass a national abortion ban.”
