Plans include skyrocketing health care costs, gutting food assistance, and supporting even more cost-raising tariffs
In a new video GOP candidate for governor Tom Tiffany revealed that he has “plans” to tackle affordability in Wisconsin. Here’s a first look at what those plans entail:
- Skyrocketing health care costs and gutting food assistance: Tiffany voted for the disastrous and deeply unpopular budget law that guts Medicaid, kicks thousands of Wisconsinites off SNAP, and drives up utility bills and housing costs. Tiffany even praised the law as “a major win for the American people,” making it clear that he is dead set on driving up prices at every opportunity.
- Cost-raising tariffs: Tiffany votedtwice to defend Washington Republicans’ reckless tariffs — including on Canada – which cost Wisconsin households $1,000 last year.
- He remained silent as Wisconsin ranchers spoke out about Trump’s plan to import Argentinian beef while spending $20 billion in taxpayer dollars bailing out the Argentinian economy to secure the election for right-wing president Javier Milei.
- And while Wisconsin soybean farmers “are caught in the middle of a trade war,” Tiffany has continued to support the disastrous trade policies that are decimating farmers in his own state.
“It is laughable for Tom Tiffany — who has voted to send costs soaring for Wisconsin families and businesses — to claim to have anything remotely resembling a ‘plan’ on affordability,” said DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy. “Tiffany has shown us his plan for Wisconsin with his votes to raise health care costs and grocery prices and defend the disastrous tariffs over and over again. Tom Tiffany is the reason Wisconsinites’ costs are through the roof.”
