In an interview yesterday with Milwaukee’s CBS 58, Congressman Tom Tiffany tries to duck responsibility for the affordability crisis he helped create, while repeatedly lying about his extreme MAGA agenda. In reality, Congressman Tiffany has been in lockstep with the Trump administration and has voted in favor of every MAGA policy driving skyrocketing costs, including the GOP budget law that has gutted health care funding and SNAP benefits, Trump’s war in Iran that’s pushing gas prices higher, and the tariffs that have made everything more expensive.

Here’s the truth about Tiffany’s record. 

Lie #1:Congressman Tiffany rewrites his record of voting to cut Wisconsinites’ health care: Tiffany voted for the disastrous budget law that gutted Medicaid and called it “a major win for the American people.” Tiffany’s record of attacking health care doesn’t end there: he also pushed a disastrous plan that would have turned Medicare into a voucher system, eliminating the program as we know it, and voted against providing incentives for states like Wisconsin to expand Medicaid to more hardworking families. 

Lie #2: Congressman Tiffany says he wouldn’t be a “rubber-stamp” for Trump, despite being exactly that: Tiffany has been nothing short of a rubber stamp for Trump’s agenda, even when it hurts Wisconsinites. He has repeatedly voted against reining in Trump’s war in Iran that continues to send gas prices surging, voted seven times to continue Trump’s tariffs that cost Wisconsin households and businesses more than $3.5 billion last year, and even voted to block the release of the Epstein files in order to shield Trump from accountability. Tiffany’s priorities are clear: Donald Trump and his MAGA allies come first, and Wisconsinites pay the price.

Lie #3: Congressman Tiffany repeatedly ducks questions about the 2020 election, while pushing lies about voting “discrepancies”: Tiffany continues to spread baseless conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, dodging when asked if Wisconsin elections are secure and continuing to claim without evidence that there were “discrepancies” in that year’s election. His comments come after years of pushing dangerous election denialism, voting not to certify the election results, signing on to briefs to overturn the will of the voters in two different states, and referring to the rioters who attacked cops on January 6 as “victims.” Now, as he campaigns to oversee the administration of the 2028 presidential election, Tiffany backs a massive federal takeover of Wisconsin elections and wants to ban mail-in voting. 

“Congressman Tom Tiffany can lie all he wants, but the facts are clear: Wisconsinites have him to thank for the extreme, costly, and chaotic MAGA policies coming out of Washington, DC,” said DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy. “Congressman Tiffany has taken every opportunity to put loyalty to Trump ahead of what’s best for Wisconsin, and nothing he can say or do now suggests he’d do any differently as governor.”
