ALBANY, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Justice and Green County District Attorney Craig Nolen today announced the sentencing of Logan T. Kruckenberg Anderson, age 21, of Albany, Wis. to life in prison for killing his infant daughter in January 2021. Under the sentence, Kruckenberg Anderson is eligible for extended supervision 45 years from the date of his 2021 arrest.

“This was a horrifying and extraordinarily tragic case,” said Attorney General Josh Kaul. “Thank you to the investigators and prosecutors whose work ensured that justice was served.”

“This sentence reflects the egregious nature of the Defendant’s acts and ensures the defendant is held accountable for a horrific act of violence,” said District Attorney Craig R. Nolen.  “This sentence would not have been possible without the dedicated work of law enforcement and prosecutors, justice has been served, and we are all safer as a result.”

The evidence presented at trial established that Kruckenberg Anderson took his newborn daughter from her mother on the day she was born, put her in a backpack, carried her to a remote wooded area, shot and killed her, and then covered her with snow and walked away.

In November 2025, a Green County jury found Kruckenberg Anderson guilty of first-degree intentional homicide and hiding the corpse of a child. On March 16, 2026, Green County Judge Jane Bucher sentenced Kruckenberg Anderson to life in prison, with eligibility for extended supervision 45 years from the date of his arrest, for first-degree intentional homicide, and a concurrent sentence of 4 years initial confinement and 3 years extended supervision for hiding the corpse of a child.

This case was investigated by the Green County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and the Albany Police Department. This case was prosecuted by the Green County District Attorney’s Office and the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
