MADISON — Wisconsin proudly celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8, 2026, recognizing the significant impact educators have on the lives of students across the state.

Teacher Appreciation Week is an opportunity to honor Wisconsin teachers’ deep commitment to their students’ academic growth, wellbeing and success—an impact that extends far beyond the classroom and helps shape the future of the state by empowering the next generation of citizens and leaders.

“Teachers are truly the heart of our schools,” State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly said. “They show up every day with patience, enthusiasm and creativity. They go above and beyond to inspire curiosity, build confidence and shape the future of our communities.

“Although teachers’ dedication deserves recognition far beyond a single week, I encourage everyone to take time to share their appreciation for the teachers in their lives. I am deeply grateful for their passion, commitment and care—this week and every week.”
