A major milestone has been reached on the I-39/90/94 Wisconsin River Bridge project with completion of the new northbound bridge over the Wisconsin River. Beginning the night of Wednesday, August 19, all I-39/90/94 traffic will be shifted onto the newly constructed northbound bridge. Following the traffic shift, crews will begin removing the existing bridge and constructing a new bridge that will carry southbound I-39/90/94 traffic in the future.
During construction, I-39/90/94 will remain open to three lanes in each direction during peak travel times.
Project completion is scheduled for fall 2028. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
