The Democratic Governors Association has launched two new ads knocking GOP gubernatorial nominee Tom Tiffany as “extreme” on abortion and healthcare.
The DGA’s Protect Our Wisconsin has now laid down $14.2 million in reservations since Aug. 11, according to AdImpact, which tracked both of the new spots starting yesterday.
In one, a woman identified as Dr. Amy, an OB-GYN, says she’s seen what happens when abortion is legal with women forced to leave Wisconsin to get care. She says patients are left suffering and fighting for their lives, which is why Tiffany’s “MAGA agenda is so dangerous.” She says he backed an abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest or a mother’s life.
She adds he voted in Washington against protecting access to birth control before closing the spot, “Tom Tiffany’s agenda is just too extreme.”
In the second ad, a woman identified as Kelsey, of Oconomowoc, says her last day of chemo was three months ago and she saw how broken the healthcare system is. She says Tiffany supported allowing companies to deny coverage to those with pre-existing conditions and in Washington voted to raise premiums on working families.
“Look, we’re all fighting to survive, and we can’t afford Tom Tiffany’s extreme agenda,” she says to close the ad.
