Candidates for state office will court activists with hospitality suites that feature a dive bar feel, a classroom theme and a tailgate vibe.
Gov. Tony Evers, meanwhile, will do his usual ice cream social with heavy appetizers, free beer and a cash bar this afternoon before the speeches begin.
Most of the gubernatorial candidates will have their hospitality suites tonight. That includes:
- Former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes with a Wisconsin dive bar theme with beer and bar signs as he touts his “Wisconsin Way” plan.
- Milwaukee County Exec David Crowley.
- Rep. Francesca Hong with what her campaign said was a house party theme with beer, snacks and activities.
- Former WEDC Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes with a cash bar and beer in what her campaign said would be a simple setting.
- Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez will have a “Forward” taproom with a dive bar theme.
- Sen. Kelda Roys will have a classroom theme with a spot to provide donations to classrooms, her campaign said. There will also be a cash bar.
AG Josh Kaul will also have a hospitality suite tonight.

Tomorrow, former DOA Secretary Joel Brennan is doing a hospitality suite in the morning with bloody marys and breakfast sandwiches.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski, the only Dem on the ballot for lieutenant governor, will do her usual bloody mary hospitality suite tomorrow morning.
