From Congress to school boards, Democrats have been overperforming and winning at record rates since Trump retook office, and last night’s elections were no exception. Once again, Democratic enthusiasm swept across the country as Democrats defeated their right-wing opponents and massively overperformed, even in deep-red districts.

Take a look at some of Democrats’ major wins and overperformances from last night:

  • In Georgia: Democrats Pulled Off Their Biggest Shift Yet Among House Specials Since 2024
  • In Wisconsin: Chris Taylor wins Wisconsin Supreme Court race, expanding liberals’ majority
  • In Wisconsin: Democrat Wins Mayoral Race in Republican-Leaning Waukesha, Wis.
  • In Missouri: Voters reject conservative candidates for Francis Howell school board

With last night’s results, Democrats have now won or overperformed in 264 of 295 key elections since 2025 — a rate of nearly 90%.

In response, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:

“Donald Trump and Republicans are rattled to their core as Democrats continue to notch major flips and overperformances across the country. Nearly every week, we’re seeing red districts go blue with historic, game-changing victories up and down the ballot. While the GOP raises costs on families, takes us into a taxpayer-funded war, and parties with billionaires, Democratic candidates are laser-focused on delivering for Americans. Our vision is clear: Lower the costs, stop Trump’s chaos, and rein in political corruption. We have momentum on our side, but we refuse to take a single day for granted. Democrats are all hands on deck ahead of November, because it’s time to send the Republicans packing.”
