Three-year initiative, backed by the 2026 Strategic Funding Award from Common Good Philanthropies, will equip nonprofit leaders serving older adults and people with disabilities with tools to plan for the future

GREEN BAY, Wis. (Aug. 10, 2026) — Envision Greater Green Bay (Envision) today announced a new three-year partnership with Common Good Philanthropies to bring Strategic Foresight training to nonprofit organizations across Wisconsin that serve older adults and people with disabilities. The partnership was recently approved by the Common Good Philanthropies Board of Directors, following Envision’s selection as recipient of Common Good’s 2026 Strategic Funding Award.

Through the partnership, Envision will bring Strategic Foresight, a discipline that helps leaders anticipate change, explore possible futures, and strengthen decision-making under uncertainty, to executive directors, program and strategy staff, and board members across Wisconsin’s long-term services and supports (LTSS) sector. The initiative aims to reach 300 to 500 leaders and more than 100 organizations statewide over the next three years.

The work will begin with a Statewide Discovery Survey this fall, designed to capture the current challenges, risks, and emerging trends facing Wisconsin nonprofits in the LTSS space. Results from the survey will directly shape the initiative’s early programming, ensuring the training is grounded in the real conditions organizations are facing. Training sessions will be facilitated by University of Houston-trained futurists and delivered through a mix of virtual and regionally distributed in-person sessions.

The partnership unfolds in three phases over 2026–2028:

  • Year One – Awareness and Engagement (2026): The Statewide Discovery Survey, virtual speaker sessions, and in-person half-day seminars introduce Strategic Foresight to a broad audience of nonprofit leaders.
  • Year Two – Skill Building and Application (2027): Regional Strategic Foresight Cohort Programs give leaders hands-on experience applying foresight tools and methods within their own organizations.
  • Year Three – Integration and Systems Impact (2028): Organizational consultation, advanced cohort programming, continued Regional Strategic Foresight Cohort Programs, and a Statewide Foresight Network help embed foresight practices into long-term strategy and strengthen collaboration across the sector.
