NEENAH, WI — Independent congressional candidate Elizabeth Fitzgibbon announced today that her campaign has secured its place on the general election ballot in Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District after the Wisconsin Elections Commission rejected every single one of the more than 800 challenges to her nomination signatures.
The challenge sought to remove hundreds of signatures from Fitzgibbon’s nomination papers, but after review, the objections were denied and her ballot access was upheld.
“This campaign has always been about giving voters a real choice,” said Fitzgibbon. “The people who signed our petitions deserve to be heard, not erased by political gamesmanship. I’m grateful to every volunteer, supporter, and voter who helped us get to this point.”
Fitzgibbon said the failed challenge is an example of the larger problem her campaign is running to confront: a political system too often focused on protecting insiders instead of solving problems for working families.
“Voters are tired of the same old political playbook,” Fitzgibbon said. “Instead of debating the issues, too many insiders look for ways to keep competition off the ballot. Families in Wisconsin are dealing with higher grocery bills, rising housing costs, unaffordable healthcare, and reckless federal spending. They deserve a campaign focused on them, not on procedural distractions.”
Fitzgibbon is running as an Independent with a campaign focused on affordability, accountability, and transparency. Her campaign argues that voters in the 6th District deserve an alternative to the two-party system and to career politicians who have failed to deliver meaningful results.
The 6th District is currently represented by Congressman Glenn Grothman, who has served in Congress since 2015 and previously pledged not to serve more than a decade in Washington.
“Elections should be decided by voters, not by efforts to remove qualified candidates before the campaign even begins,” Fitzgibbon said. “Now that this challenge is behind us, we are getting back to the work that matters: meeting people, listening to families, and offering a real alternative to politics as usual.”
With ballot access secured, the Fitzgibbon campaign will continue its schedule of community events, listening sessions, and grassroots outreach across Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District.
