Tenure will be known for its incompetence, lawlessness, and inhumanity!

Franklin, WI – The National President of Forward Latino, a national non-profit, non-partisan, service
and advocacy organization headquartered in Franklin, Wisconsin and with affiliates and members in 29
states issued the following statement regarding the removal of Secretary Kristi Noem from the U.S.
Department of Homeland Security.

Statement by National President Darryl Morin:

“Forward Latino welcomes the removal of Kristi Noem as Secretary of the Department of
Homeland Security. On June 13, 2025, Forward Latino called for her immediate removal. Even
then, her brief tenure was marked by incompetence, dangerous overreach, and a willful
disregard for the United States Constitution.

Her failures weakened FEMA’s response to natural disasters, contributing to tragic loss of life
and leaving vulnerable communities without the assistance they desperately needed and
deserved. At the same time, her immigration enforcement actions were not only immoral, but
repeatedly violated the U.S. Constitution leading to the questioning, detention, deportation, and
in some cases the deaths of immigrants and U.S. citizens alike.

Equally disturbing was the shocking assault and detention of United States Senator Alex Padilla,
an outrageous incident that demonstrated a blatant disregard for democratic norms,
congressional oversight, and the rule of law.

The Department of Homeland Security demands leadership that respects the Constitution,
protects communities, and upholds accountability. Secretary Noem failed that test, and her
removal was long overdue.”
