MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today announced the appointment of Delani Dow to the University of Wisconsin (UW) Board of Regents to fill the nontraditional student regent position and the vacancy created by the expiration of Desmond Adongo’s term on May 1, 2026. Dow will serve for a two-year term.

“The work of the UW Board of Regents is as important as ever, and Delani Dow is a dedicated, passionate student who will make a great board member,” said Gov. Evers. “Delani’s background, expertise, and perspective will be a valuable addition to the board, and I know she will work hard to do what’s best for our students, faculty, and staff.”

Dow is an elementary education major with an interest in special education and has attended UW-River Falls since 2025. She was raised in Eugene, Oregon, and now lives in Western Wisconsin. Dow works as a home health aide for BrightStar Care and Accra Homecare. Dow is a student mentor and senator for the UW-River Falls Disability Resource Center. Earlier this year, Dow was also a top three finisher in the UW-River Falls 11th Spark Tank! Innovation Challenge for her plan to develop educational materials for parents to prevent self-harm among youth.

“As a community member and student, I am thrilled to bring my unique educational and life experience to the UW Board of Regents,” said Dow. “I am honored to serve my community as an advocate for everyone in the UW System.”
