The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is urging drivers to be cautious on the roads as a winter storm brings high winds and heavy snowfall into the state this weekend. Oversize/Overweight vehicle drivers are reminded that their permits restrict operations during inclement weather.
Reminders for trucking companies:
- Review schedules and routes, and plan accordingly.
- Check 511wi.gov before departure and throughout their trips for current travel impacts and advisories.
- Familiarize yourself with the free truck parking locations detailed on Safety Rest Areas and Safety and Weight Enforcement Facilities.
- The Truck Parking Information Management System is active at the multiple rest area locations and highway signage will explain space availability.
