Wisconsin— The WI-03 Indivisible Coalition, composed of Indivisible chapters within Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, announced its endorsement today of Emily Berge, Democrat, for the U.S. House of Representatives. “We are proud to support Emily Berge in her campaign to represent the people of the Third Congressional District. Emily has a history of fighting for the most vulnerable in our community and a commitment to the ideals that bring our Indivisible groups together: equality, justice, compassion, and inclusion.” – Ann Brice, La Crosse Indivisible
Emily Berge has a long record of dedication to the community. As a licensed counselor and small business owner, her career has focused on improving the mental health outcomes for her clients. Inspired by the 2016 presidential election, she joined a local Indivisible chapter and started organizing for change. She was then elected to the Eau Claire City Council for eight years and served as the Council President for three years. “Emily Berge is a proven leader and advocate for putting people first. We’ve been impressed by her values-based platform, authenticity, and commitment to stand up for residents of the Third Congressional District.” – Nicole Smith, Monroe County Indivisible
The WI-03 Indivisible Coalition seeks leaders that will stand up to the Trump Administration and its harmful agenda that has endangered immigrant children and their families, threatened the financial well-being of our families and farms, and normalized racism and cruelty across this country. We endorse candidates that will fight for public schools, healthcare accessibility, voting rights, fair maps, and meaningful campaign finance reform. To earn this endorsement, Emily Berge cleared a multi-stage process, attending a candidate forum, meeting with Indivisible groups’ general membership, completing a questionnaire survey and ultimately earning the majority of the votes of these groups’ active members.
“To flip this seat, we need a candidate who can inspire a diverse coalition of progressive voters from every corner of our vast district. Residents of the Third District need a representative who is open to town halls and unscripted interactions with constituents. Berge is a leader who is not afraid to speak truth to power, be that President Donald Trump, House Leadership, or even her own political party.” – Molly Mangan, Grant County Indivisible.
