AG Josh Kaul said his GOP opponent would be a “yes man” for Donald Trump as he touted his work battling the president.

Kaul, first elected in 2018, is running in a rematch of his 2022 race against Fond du Lac DA Eric Toney.

The AG touted the more than 50 multi-state lawsuits he and other Dem attorneys general had launched against the administration as well as his successful challenge to an 1849 state abortion law that went into effect after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.

Referencing Trump’s tendency to tell his supporters they’d be “tired of winning,” Kaul boasted, “I haven’t gotten sick of beating the Trump administration yet.”

At the same time, he sought to paint Toney as an enabler for the president and an election skeptic, noting Toney had backed former state Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman’s investigation into Wisconsin’s 2020 election results and supported calls to remove members of the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

“Let’s be clear, the necessary step to restore confidence in our elections is to tell the truth, which is that we have safe and free and fair elections in Wisconsin,” Kaul said.

He also touted his work on opioid settlements, addressing the state’s sexual assault kit backlog, and advocating for additional support for victims services programs.
