WAUSAU, Wis. – Today, Marathon County Board Supervisor John Kroll announced his candidacy for the 85th Assembly District. Kroll, who works professionally to make homes across Wisconsin more affordable and comfortable, is a strong advocate for lowering family costs – including utility costs and taxes. Kroll released the following statement:
“I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the State Assembly. I am proud to call Wausau my home and I am even more proud to raise my family here. For far too long, the ineffective Republican-controlled legislature has been siding with big corporations and billionaires, leaving hard working Wisconsinites behind. I’m running to change that.
“I’m running for the Assembly because we need to make state government work for us, not the super-rich. Rising costs are hurting families. My wife and I are raising our kids here, but the costs keep adding up. The cost of childcare is outrageous, our grocery bills keep climbing, healthcare is getting more expensive and it’s time we do something about it. In the legislature, I’ll work to bring down costs, create good-paying jobs, make healthcare more affordable, and protect Wisconsin’s drinking water and natural beauty for our kids and future generations. I want to work with folks from across the state to make Wisconsin the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
“This year, we have an opportunity to bring Wisconsin values back to the state legislature. I am excited to speak to voters across this district, hear what their priorities are, and create a shared vision for a state where every family can thrive. Let’s get to work!”
