The liberal group A Better Wisconsin Together Political Fund has launched a new digital campaign praising liberal state Supreme Court candidate Chris Taylor while knocking conservative rival Maria Lazar on abortion and clean water.

The group filed reports with the Ethics Commission this week detailing $238,889 in expenses for the ads, including $5,850 in staff time.

The effort includes three 15-second spots.

In one, the narrator says when Donald Trump “attacks our rights, Chris Taylor stands up for Wisconsin families.” The spot calls the court “the last line of defense,” adding Taylor is “standing up for our rights and freedoms.”

In another ad, the narrator says Lazar hasn’t “kept it a secret” that she supported overturning the U.S. Supreme Court decision that guaranteed the right to an abortion. The narrator adds, “She doesn’t trust Wisconsin women and their doctors. We can’t trust her on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”

The final spot says Lazar sided with a company when it sued to “avoid cleaning up cancer-causing chemicals.” The spot shows the image of a child drinking from a glass as the narrator says, “If you care about your water or theirs, don’t vote for Maria Lazar.”
