[Racine, Wis.] — Today, Will Martin, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, received the endorsement of the Milwaukee Police Association. Representing 1,200 officers, the Milwaukee Police Association is Wisconsin’s largest local law enforcement union.
The Milwaukee Police Association interviewed candidates and ultimately selected Martin after he presented his “Back the Blue & Red” proposal, a package of concrete initiatives to address real life challenges facing the men and women of law enforcement, firefighters, and other first responders.
The Milwaukee Police Association, representing the rank-and-file officers of the Milwaukee Police Department, has been vocal about the need for competitive wages and improved working conditions to stem the tide of resignations and retirements. The department recently concluded a three-year period without a contract, a delay Martin has pledged to prevent in the future by requiring contracts to be finalized within six months of expiration.

My ‘Back the Blue & Red’ plan isn’t just a slogan, it is a commitment to provide safe equipment, mental health resources, legal protections, and housing support so our heroes and their families can live with fewer stressors in the communities they protect”.
Key pillars of Martin’s public safety platform include:
● Life Terms: Automatic life sentences without parole for criminals convicted of killing law enforcement or first responders.
● Anti-Doxxing Protections: Making it a felony to dox first responders or their families.
● Grant Programs: State-matched funding for safe equipment and expanded mental healthcare access.
● Homeownership Support: Expanding WHEDA (Wisconsin Housing & Economic Development Authority) products to provide downpayment assistance for first responders.
