Madison, WI – Today, Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford announced her campaign’s first fundraising numbers in the race to represent District 76 in the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Since launching in late September, Martinez-Rutherford has received more than $45,000 in contributions from over 500 unique donors, with an average donation of $67 and not a dime of corporate PAC money. Donors to the campaign include teachers, healthcare workers, union members, nonprofit employees, seniors, college students, and leaders from Madison and across Wisconsin.

“I’m grateful beyond words for the support that our campaign has received. This campaign is powered by people who are tired of being priced out and cast aside by politics as usual. Folks are excited about our vision for an affordable Wisconsin where the needs of working people come before the demands of billionaires. We’ve got grassroots power on our side, and we’re just getting started,” Martinez-Rutherford said.

If elected, Martinez-Rutherford would make history as Wisconsin’s first transgender state legislator. She has earned the endorsement of more than 50 current and former elected officials, as well as over three dozen community leaders.

The 76th Assembly District is currently represented by State Representative Francesca Hong, who is running for Governor. The district includes downtown Madison, Maple Bluff, and neighborhoods on the East and North Side. For more information about Dina Nina’s campaign, visit votedinanina.com.
