Pride Alliance, an employee resource group (ERG) at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), has received a 2026 Global ERG Network (GEN) IMPACT Award for its efforts to create a more inclusive and welcoming campus community. This marks the first time the group has received a GEN IMPACT Award.
Pride Alliance was recognized for its work developing MATC’s flag policy, which provides guidance for flying flags to promote organizations or events. Since 2024, MATC has raised the Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride flag to recognize Pride Month in June, and the Juneteenth flag to recognize the national holiday.
GEN IMPACT Award recipients are recognized for the meaningful impact they create within their organizations and communities through employee-led initiatives. Honorees are evaluated on their ability to innovate, collaborate and strengthen workplace culture.

“Employee resource groups translate our values into impact. Pride Alliance championed the flag-raising policy from concept to implementation, demonstrating the kind of leadership that continues to build a more inclusive, caring culture at MATC,” said Michael Rogers, MATC vice president of student engagement and community impact.
The Pride Alliance will be recognized at the 2026 Global ERG Network Conference, November 10-11 in Charlotte, N.C. where the team will learn its final placement in the GEN IMPACT ERG and Councils Award category.
