MILWAUKEE – Following the passing of Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, who died after a two-year battle with cancer, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley released the following statement:
“Today, our region lost a dedicated public servant, and I lost a friend and partner in leadership. Paul Farrow led Waukesha County with resilience, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the people he served.
I first met Paul when I was just starting out as a staffer in the Wisconsin State Legislature, and our relationship grew as I got to know him better during my time in the Assembly. That bond only deepened once we found ourselves leading neighboring counties, collaborating to tackle many of the same challenges. He always picked up the phone, and he always showed up. That kind of partnership is rare, and I’m grateful I got to build it with him.
Paul was someone I could have real, honest conversations with. We didn’t always see eye to eye politically, but we shared a deep belief that our counties are stronger when we work together. From tackling the opioid epidemic to advancing regional economic development, Paul was a genuine collaborator who understood that the challenges facing Southeastern Wisconsin don’t stop at county lines.
On behalf of Milwaukee County, I extend our deepest condolences to Paul’s wife Amy, their sons, and the entire Farrow family, as well as to his staff and residents of Waukesha County who he served so faithfully for over a decade. My thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved him.”
