Mayor Cavalier Johnson has nominated Jordan Morales to fill a seat on Milwaukee’s Fire and Police Commission (FPC).
“Jordan Morales’s civic engagement is noteworthy. He has been a prominent voice on traffic safety and crime reduction in Milwaukee,” Mayor Johnson said. “He will champion the interests of our residents in this important new role.”
Morales currently serves as an assistant superintendent for Mortenson Construction. He also chairs the Milwaukee Historic Preservation Commission and serves as a structural craftsman (NCO-in-charge) for the Wisconsin Air National Guard. Morales previously served as an air traffic control watch supervisor for the U.S. Air Force and as an air traffic controller for the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The Milwaukee Common Council will consider Morales’ nomination at upcoming meetings. If confirmed, Morales will fill the seat currently held by Commissioner Bree Spencer, whose term expires on July 13, 2026.
Prior to those Common Council meetings, the FPC will host a community meeting for members of the public to meet the new FPC appointee. During the meeting, Morales will discuss his background and vision for the FPC, and answer questions from community members.
The community meeting will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee’s (UWM’s) Downtown Conference Center, located at 161 West Wisconsin Avenue, #7000, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53203. Community members may attend the meeting in person or virtually.
