| Change made to encourage greater participation amid World Series |
| (MILWAUKEE) — The final session of the Superintendent’s 2027-28 Budget Advisory Committee, originally set to meet on Wednesday, October 28, has been rescheduled, MPS Superintendent Brenda Cassellius announced today. The advisory committee instead will meet on Thursday, November 5, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at MPS Central Services, 5225 W. Vliet St., Room 206. The meeting has been rescheduled to allow for greater public participation, in light of the World Series game on Wednesday, October 28. After the November 5 meeting, the Office of Finance will publish the recommendations agreed on by the advisory committee and will collect public comment until November 25, 2026. All recommendations and public comment will help shape the district’s 2027–28 budget, which is expected to be delivered to the Milwaukee Board of School Directors in early 2027. Committee and community input will help inform budget priorities and provide feedback on the investments and resources needed to support students, schools, and staff. The Budget Advisory Committee is part of MPS’s broader commitment to making community engagement a meaningful part of the budget’s development. |
