NFIB remains committed to fighting on behalf of Wisconsin’s small business community
MADISON, WI (Nov. 4, 2026) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Wisconsin’s leading small business advocacy organization, issued the following statement regarding last night’s election results and the upcoming legislative session.
“While Wisconsin voters have chosen a different partisan direction for state government, the challenges facing small businesses remain unchanged. Across the state, Main Street employers continue to grapple with workforce shortages, rising costs, regulatory burdens, and economic uncertainty,” said NFIB Wisconsin State Director Luke Bacher.
“We are also encouraged by voters’ approval of the constitutional amendment, limiting a governor’s ability to raise taxes and fees through the veto process. Securing this reform was a top priority for NFIB, and its passage is a major victory for taxpayers, small businesses, and accountable government. Wisconsin voters made it clear that tax increases should be debated and approved by elected lawmakers, not created through executive action,” Bacher continued.
“NFIB looks forward to working with the Governor and legislative leaders of both parties to advance policies that strengthen our economy, reduce unnecessary regulations, and give small businesses the certainty and flexibility they need to invest, hire, and grow. Wisconsin’s small businesses are the backbone of our communities, and they deserve a seat at the table as policymakers consider the state’s future.”
