Most ads in this fall’s campaigns have focused on affordability, crime and social issues.
Two groups up with new ads also want to reach voters on hunting wolves and the right to modify cars.
The Washington, D.C-based Animal Wellness Action announced a buy knocking GOP gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany on his push to allow wolf hunting. The group said it’s a $164,000 buy on digital that will run on streaming TV, YouTube, online video, Facebook and Instagram through Election Day.
The narrator in the ad says Tiffany is “obsessing over wolf killing instead of gas and food prices. When Wisconsinites need an advocate for them, Tiffany is busy crying wolf.”
Meanwhile, Driving Force Action launched a new ad supporting U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Prairie du Chien. The spot features Mike and Jim Ring of Spring Green’s Ringbrothers, a car building company and shop for aftermarket parts.
They say in the spot the next Congress has the opportunity to protect “the right to modify” and the right people are needed in place like Van Orden, who they call a “car guy.”
The group said it plans to spend $35,000 on ads in Wisconsin by Election Day, including a previous spot it did praising Tiffany.
