The Dem group Opportunity Wisconsin is out with a new ad knocking GOP U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, this time charging he voted for the largest Medicaid cut in history.

Last week, the group announced the beginning of a seven-figure effort going after the Prairie du Chien Republican. The first ad, part of a $420,000 buy, targeted Van Orden over expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies. But then Van Orden reversed course and voted for legislation to extend the tax credits.

The new ad features a woman identified as Kate, of Tomah. She says she met with Van Orden, who promised he would never cut Medicaid.

“Then he turned around, and he voted for the largest Medicaid cut in history,” she said. “It’s absolutely devastating. We need to tell Congressman Van Orden to stop raising our health care costs.”
