Los Angeles, CA – On Earth Day, the creators of “Keep Republicans Out of Your Bed” and “Republican Kidnappers,” Democratic super PAC Progress Action Fund, along with Team Energy Everywhere, have released a new ad, “Republicans Pissing on You,” highlighting something people are already feeling: electric trucks and cars are getting killed by Trump.

This ad shows a blue-collar guy showing off his new EV truck only to find out his GOP congressman is peeing on it. The Congressman goes on to say he won the last election, so he is killing electric cars.

The ad is part of a $500,000 buy across connected TV, streaming, and digital platforms in PA, AZ, GA, MI, WI, IA, and NC, showing how Republicans are taking a piss on every American.

“This isn’t some stuffy climate debate between a couple of woke professors at DEI U,” said Joe Jacobson, Founder and Executive Director of Progress Action Fund. “This is about families who can’t afford the basics because of rising gas prices and the loss of good-paying American manufacturing jobs. This is Trump pissing on every American.”

This ad also speaks to how Democrats are losing ground with men, especially younger men, and part of that is failing to meet them where they are.

“If Democrats want to win those voters back, we have to talk about what actually matters in their lives,” Jacobson added. “That includes being able to afford a car and having a good-paying job.”

But without a stable policy and without making that case clearly, that opportunity is slipping away.

“Americans are furious about high gas prices and how Republicans keep blocking clean energy solutions. When you get an electric truck, you never have to pay for gas again. We need politicians who are making those electric vehicles more affordable, not pissing all over them,” said Jamie Henn, a spokesperson for Energy Everywhere, a new clean energy campaign that helped produce the ad.

88% of Big Oil’s political contributions go to Republicans. According to Forbes, “the oil and gas industry poured nearly $250 million into the election cycle that produced the current U.S. government.” This has paid off in a big way for big oil companies as Trump keeps checking off their wishlist with decisions like:

  • Killing the $7,500 tax credit for new EVs in his Big Beautiful Bill
  • Blocking funding from the Biden administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for the build-out of new electric charging stations
  • Canceling over $700,000,000 in grants to battery manufacturers in the US

Trump’s attacks on clean energy are costing us hundreds of thousands of jobs across America.  Trump and the GOP’s attacks on clean energy are expected to cost the auto sector over 130,000 net direct jobs, including:

  • An electric vehicle plant in North Carolina is cutting 6,000 jobs after the GOP’s Big Beautiful Bill went after clean energy funding
  • General Motors’ layoffs of  1,200 workers at its electric vehicle plant in Detroit
  • Ford’s shut down an electric vehicle plant in Kentucky, costing 1,600 jobs
