WALWORTH — Representative Tyler August (R-Walworth), Majority Leader of the Wisconsin State Assembly, released the following statement after securing re-election to represent the 31st Assembly District:
“I am deeply grateful to the voters of Walworth and Rock Counties for placing their trust in me once again. Serving as your representative has been the honor of my life, and tonight’s results reaffirm that the people of our communities want a strong, conservative voice fighting for lower taxes, safe neighborhoods, parental rights in education, and common-sense policies that put Wisconsin families first.
“I want to thank my family, my dedicated campaign team, the volunteers who knocked on doors and made calls, and every supporter who made this victory possible. Your hard work and commitment to our shared values made the difference.
“While I am proud to have earned the support of the 31st District, the broader results across Wisconsin are clear: Democrats will control the governor’s office and both chambers of the Legislature for the first time in years. That is the choice voters have made, and we respect the outcome.
“But our work is far from over. Assembly Republicans will stand firmly for our pro-growth, conservative principles. We will continue to fight for lower taxes and a strong economy, accountability in government, election integrity, school choice, and the rights and freedoms that have made Wisconsin a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Wisconsin families and small businesses deserve a voice that will push back against higher taxes, bigger government, and policies that make life more expensive. That is exactly what we intend to do.
“Congratulations to all candidates who ran, and thank you to every Wisconsinite who participated in this election. The work of building a stronger, more prosperous Wisconsin continues.”
