State Fair Park, West Allis – Today, the State Building Commission met at the 175th Wisconsin State Fair to consider dozens of projects across Wisconsin. Representative Jill Billings, a member of the State Building Commission and the Chair of the Higher Education Subcommittee, released the following statement:

“I am proud to vote to approve over two dozen projects across Wisconsin to improve our UW campuses, state facilities, and government services. Bringing the State Building Commission on the road to the State Fair is a great opportunity for the public to see their government in action.”

“As the chair of the Higher Education Subcommittee, I was particularly excited to vote in support of funding for sprinkler systems at UW La Crosse dorms. Prioritizing student safety is essential and I am glad that we are taking this step to improve residence halls at UWL. Other projects approved by the State Building Commission include necessary renovations and maintenance efforts at UW campuses across the state, state park projects, and upgrades at state-operated facilities to increase efficiency and maintain usability for years to come.”
