After a great deal of thought, I have decided to retire from the Wisconsin State Assembly. It has been an honor to represent the people of both the 60th and 59th Assembly Districts.

I want to start by thanking my wife and family. Public service requires time and sacrifice, and their support made it possible; I owe them more than I can say. Because of their love and support I was able to serve more than a decade as the Ozaukee County Board Chairman and more than a decade as a State Representative.

I want to thank the families, workers, farmers, small business owners, and community leaders across both districts who have supported me along the way. Your encouragement and trust have meant everything. Together, we made a difference.

While I am stepping away from office, I still care deeply about the future of Wisconsin. Strong leadership in Madison matters, and it is important that we continue to elect people who understand our communities and are willing to stand up for them.

I am proud to endorse Bradley Petersen for the 59th Assembly District. He understands the needs of this area and shares the values that are important to the people who live here. He supports responsible government, lower taxes, law enforcement, and the rights of Wisconsin citizens.

Bradley will represent this district well. He knows that the government should work for the people, and he is committed to helping families succeed, supporting local businesses, and keeping our communities strong.

I have full confidence in his ability to serve with integrity and dedication. I encourage voters in the 59th District to support him.

As I step away, I do so with gratitude. Thank you for the opportunity to serve, and for the trust you placed in me.

May God bless you and the state of Wisconsin.
