Representative Alex Dallman was recently awarded the 2025-26 Friend of the Towns Award by the Wisconsin Towns Association in recognition of his efforts supporting town government.

“Representative Dallman has shown a deep understanding of the challenges facing towns and his leadership has delivered
flexibility and practical solutions,” said Tom Winker, President of the Wisconsin Towns Association. “His legislation will help towns adapt and better serve their constituents.”

Representative Dallman authored legislation to modernize town law and provide greater flexibility in how town clerk and treasurer positions are structured. Among other changes, the legislation allows towns to more easily and more quickly transition from an elected clerk to an appointed clerk when circumstances require it. This flexibility is critical for towns that have experienced
frequent turnover in clerk or treasurer positions or difficulty attracting candidates due to the increasing complexity and workload of the role.

“Representative Dallman has taken a thoughtful and forward-looking approach to supporting towns,” said Mike Koles, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Towns Association. “His work on both policy and funding will have a lasting impact on communities across Wisconsin.”
