MADISON – State Representative Dean Kaufert [R—Neenah] issued the following statement
related to tornado and storm damage in Menasha, Appleton, Fox Crossing, Neenah, and other
nearby areas Monday:

“My heart and prayers go out to all our friends and neighbors who have been affected
by the tornado and severe storms. I have seen some of the areas worst impacted in
Menasha and the damage in parts of the city are devastating. I have been in touch
with the Governor’s office and stand ready to help the recovery effort any way I can at
the state level. Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) field service staff are on
the ground and are in contact with county emergency management offices.”

“The Governor and WEM have assured me they stand ready to help with state
resources, National Guard, etc., but they cannot deploy state resources until requested
by the local jurisdictions.”
