Madison, WI — This week, Representative Dan Knodl submitted testimony to the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin regarding Wisconsin Electric Power Company’s proposed Very Large Customer and Bespoke Resources tariffs (Docket 6630-TE-113).

“As we welcome economic growth and innovation in Wisconsin, it is critical that new utility policies protect families, renters, and small businesses from unnecessary costs and financial risk,” said Rep. Knodl. “My testimony urges the Commission to ensure that large energy users, including data centers, are fully responsible for the infrastructure and resources they require, and that existing ratepayers are shielded from any unintended consequences.”

Rep. Knodl emphasized that economic development and ratepayer protection are not in conflict. “We can support investment while insisting on fairness, transparency, and strong safeguards for Wisconsin residents,” he said.

The testimony asks the PSC to closely review the proposed tariffs and, if necessary, require revisions to protect the long-term interests of Wisconsin utility customers.
