As your State Representative, one of my top priorities is ensuring Wisconsin remains a
great place to live, work, raise a family, and start or grow a business. Every vote I cast
in Madison is guided by what I believe will strengthen our communities, expand
opportunities, and prepare our state for future success.
I am honored to share that the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce
(MMAC) recently awarded me a perfect 100% score on its 2025-2026 Legislative
Scorecard. The scorecard evaluates legislators based on votes supporting policies that
promote workforce development, economic growth, education, housing, infrastructure,
and a strong business climate.
“This recognition isn’t about a score; it’s about delivering results for the people I
represent,” Melotik said. “Our communities need policies that help businesses grow,
create family-supporting jobs, improve educational opportunities, and keep Wisconsin
competitive. Every vote I cast is made with those goals in mind, and I’m proud to
support commonsense legislation that strengthens both our local communities and our
state’s economy.”
During the past legislative session, I supported a number of initiatives designed to
address some of the biggest challenges facing our state. These included investing in
workforce development, preserving Wisconsin’s Manufacturing and Agriculture Tax
Credit, expanding special education funding, supporting child care initiatives, increasing
access to workforce housing, modernizing occupational licensing, strengthening
penalties for repeat retail theft offenders, and reducing unnecessary government
regulations that create obstacles for employers and job creators.
I also supported legislation to improve educational opportunities by restoring academic
standards, creating more flexibility for aspiring teachers, and helping families maintain
access to educational choice programs. These efforts are intended to provide students
with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed while giving parents greater
confidence in their children’s education.
Our communities thrive when government creates an environment where businesses
can invest, families can prosper, and workers have access to good-paying jobs. That requires thoughtful policymaking, responsible budgeting, and a willingness to tackle long-term challenges such as workforce shortages and housing availability.
Serving the people of the 22nd Assembly District is a privilege I never take for granted.
Whether I am voting on legislation, meeting with local employers, speaking with
community leaders, or hearing directly from constituents, my goal remains the same: to
represent our district with integrity, common sense, and a focus on practical solutions.
As always, I welcome your thoughts and feedback. If you have questions about
legislation, need assistance with a state agency, or would like to share your perspective
on issues affecting our community, please don’t hesitate to contact my office. Hearing
from the people I represent helps me be a better advocate for our district.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your State Representative.
