Rhinelander, WI – State Representative Rob Swearingen released the following statement in response to Representative Rob Brooks announcing he will not seek reelection in 2026.

“I want to extend my sincere congratulations to Representative Brooks on his retirement from the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Representative Brooks has dedicated many years to public service, including 14 years on the Ozaukee County Board before being elected to the Assembly in 2014. Throughout his time in office, he has remained committed to serving his community and the people of Wisconsin with integrity and pride.

Representative Brooks is not only a respected colleague but also a great friend. He has been a pleasure to work with during our time in the Assembly. He is an incredibly smart lawmaker who brought extensive knowledge, particularly on housing and hospitality issues, that benefited both his district and the entire state.

The 59th Assembly District will miss his leadership and dedication. I will personally miss serving alongside him. In addition, I will miss his candid sense of humor as the two of us enjoyed plenty of laughs together since he was elected, and those moments will not be forgotten.

I wish Rob and his wife, Dawn, all the very best in his retirement and in the years ahead. Cheers to you, my friend!”
