Madison, WI– Representative Paul Tittl (R-Manitowoc) is pleased to advance a bill which creates a lemon law for implements of husbandry.
“Wisconsin farmers who purchase new implements of husbandry (IOH) should have a lemon law to protect their investment,” said Tittl. “This proposal positions Wisconsin farmers to be entitled to the reliable product they purchased.”
Wisconsin has already had a lemon law in place that covers cars, trucks, and SUVs since 1984. Multiple other states already have agricultural equipment lemon laws, including our neighbors Illinois and Minnesota. This bill covers IOH priced at $100,000 and above, ensuring that large purchases have the proper protections in place.
The bill passed the Assembly on a voice vote and will now wait to be taken up in the Senate.
The 25th Assembly District includes portions of Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties.
