Washington, D.C. — The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today launched the final spot in its “States Don’t Wait” campaign, closing out a summer-long effort celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and highlighting the results Republican-led states are delivering for their communities.
The new ad, “Next,” will run statewide across Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, backed by a six-figure digital buy. The spot centers on a founding principle of the American experiment: power belongs to the people, not the government. While Democrats increasingly embrace bigger government, more bureaucracy and a socialist agenda, Republican legislatures are taking a different approach: cutting taxes, eliminating red tape, rooting out fraud, creating opportunity and putting power back in the hands of the people.
As the country looks ahead to an increasingly contentious 2026 election, the campaign’s final spot makes clear that Republican state leaders remain focused on delivering results and advancing a common-sense agenda — not getting distracted by the political noise.
“America was founded on a simple idea: that power belongs to the people, not the government,” said RSLC President Edith Jorge-Tuñón. “Yet Democrats are increasingly embracing a bigger-government agenda that puts bureaucracy ahead of the people they serve. Republican legislatures are proving there is a better way — cutting taxes, rooting out fraud, cutting red tape and creating more opportunity for families and businesses. As we celebrate 250 years of self-government, Republican states are standing up for the principles that made this country exceptional, and we’re just getting started. The elections ahead will be fiercely contested, but Republicans will continue fighting for a common-sense agenda that puts people, not government, first.”
The committee also launched a new microsite that will serve as a one-stop site for the campaign’s content, including merchandise concepts to help conservatives across the country celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

NARRATOR:“America was founded on a radical idea. Power belongs to the people, and from that freedom, America changed the world, defeated tyranny, conquered the stars, defied the impossible. But while radical socialists push more power to govern. Republican-led states are returning it to the people, cutting red tape, rooting out fraud, creating opportunity, because the next 250 years can be even bolder than the first, and states don’t wait to lead the way.”
BACKGROUND:
- Earlier this year, the RSLC released its 2026 Battleground States Memo identifying Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin as some of the nation’s most competitive state legislative battlegrounds.
- The “States Don’t Wait” campaign will run across all five battleground states highlighted in the RSLC’s 2026 Battleground States Memo, reinforcing the importance of state legislative majorities in shaping the future of the country.
ABOUT RSLC
