Milwaukee, WI — On Thursday, Jim Steineke, Chairman of the Wisconsin chapter of RightCount, released the following statement after Governor Tony Evers signed the Electoral Count Reform Act legislation into law.

“Wisconsin took another important step to ensure the safety and security of our elections with the signing of the Electoral Count Reform Act (ECRA) legislation into law. For too long, the lack of clarity and uncertainty in our laws created opportunities for political games to be played with the certification of our elections, and the ECRA takes the necessary steps to ensure Wisconsin not only complies with federal law, but also ensures voters are protected from those who seek to weaponize the process for their own benefit.”
