[Lake Nebagamon, WI…] Former Republican candidate for governor, Josh Schoemann, today endorsed Angie Sapik for the 25th state senate district.

Josh Schoemann, Washington County Executive, said Sapik is the kind of small business leader and fiscal conservative Republicans need in Madison to fight for lower taxes and job creating policies.

“Angie Sapik will bring her real-world experience as a small business leader to the state senate to ensure Main Street entrepreneurs have a voice in Madison,” County Executive Schoemann said. “We need leaders like Angie who understand what small businesses face each day as they work hard to grow a business, create good-paying jobs, and contribute to the vitality of our communities. Small businesses are the backbone of Wisconsin’s economy and Angie is committed to fighting against the bureaucratic red tape that puts a stranglehold on development while spearheading policies to foster growth.”

Sapik, a current Douglas County Board Supervisor and former state Representative, continues to gain momentum for her state senate race. Last week she announced the endorsement of former Attorney General Van Hollen and Washburn County Sheriff Dennis Stuart.

Sapik also released a list of 16 current and former state legislators who have endorsed her campaign. She is an official 2024 Trump elector, was elected to the state Assembly in 2022 and served one term representing the 73rd Assembly District. Sapik was then elected to the Douglas County Board of Supervisors in 2024.

Sapik, a small business leader, is married to Nate who owns Benson Electric Co., and she helps manage Vee’s Produce Inc., a family business, in Superior, WI. They have two children and reside in Lake Nebagamon.
