SEVERSON DONOR POTENTIAL CONFLICT OF INTEREST

WITH COUNTY BOARD SEAT

[Polk County, WI…] In the the Republican primary for the 25th Senate District, Erik Severson has received thousands of dollars in contributions from a data center lawyer and his family, while at the same time the data center lawyer is spending thousands of dollars in Independant Expenditures attacking Severson’s opponent, Angie Sapik.

“Erik Severson’s campaign is being bankrolled by data center money, and now his major donor is spending thousands upon thousands of dollars in negative ads attacking me. I’m standing up for the taxpayers of Polk County, and I won’t let Severson and his data center money intimidate me,” said Sapik.

The data center lawyer, Adam Jarchow, is an attorney for Metered North. Jarchow also sits on the Polk County board, which has some oversight for permitting data center proposals and recently did not vote on a moratorium, although the issue was on the agenda.

Sapik said there may be a potential conflict of interest given the roles the data center lawyer is playing between funding Severson’s campaigns, the Independant Expenditures against her, and Jarchow’s role as a Polk County Supervisor.
