APPLETON, WI — Last week, our primary opponent asked the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) to invalidate all of our nomination papers and remove our campaign from the ballot, despite the support of more than 1,300 voters who signed our petitions and the work of qualified Wisconsin electors who circulated them.
Last night, the staff of the WEC issued their recommendation to the Commission that ALL of our opponent’s challenges be rejected. A public hearing will be held this morning starting at 10 am at which time the commission members will make their final determination.
The Mark Scheffler for Congress campaign calls a press conference for 3:00 p.m. today at Houdini Plaza in Appleton in anticipation of the completion of the WEC hearing. The campaign will issue a prepared statement and Mark Scheffler will take questions from the media.
