Racine County Legislator, Co-Chair of Audit Committee Backs Schutt
Clinton, WI: State Senate candidate Ellen Schutt announced today that she has earned the endorsement of Racine County legislator Bob Wittke.
A finance and accounting professional, Wittke has put his private sector experience to work in the legislature, working to hold state government accountable as the co-chair of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee. This session, the committee’s work has focused on spending issues in K-12 education and unemployment fraud.
“Ellen understands the need to rein in government spending and cut waste,” said Wittke. “She has a proven record of standing up for working families and delivering real results. I’m proud to support her because I know she’s ready to continue the fight for responsible government.”
Schutt is running to succeed Senator Steve Nass following his retirement. As a former State Representative, she built a record focused on tax relief, public safety, and safeguarding individual liberty.
“Every month, like so many families across our district, my husband and I sit down and figure out how to make everything work – the groceries, the mortgage, childcare… all of it,” Schutt said. “That’s why I’m grateful for Rep. Wittke’s work on the audit committee and for his support of my campaign. I look forward to working alongside leaders like Bob so we can hold government accountable and make sure it lives within its means so families like ours can get ahead again.”
Her campaign continues to build momentum with endorsements from respected conservative leaders across southeastern Wisconsin, with Rep. Bob Wittke joining Assembly Majority Leader Tyler August and State Senator Van Wanggaard.
