Madison, WI– State Senator Dan Feyen (R-Fond du Lac) released the following statement upon Realta Fusion’s announcement on the development of their corporate headquarters and fusion hub at the former Oscar Meyer plant.
“This announcement is an exciting step forward for the State of Wisconsin. Realta Fusion, spun out of the labs at UW Madison and now this incredible startup is setting down its roots in the former Oscar Meyer plant down the road from the university.
“Emerging Fusion technology has the potential to create abundant, affordable, clean energy. Wisconsin’s skilled manufacturing workforce and 2nd-to-none research institutions make our beautiful state the perfect location to become a global leader in this new sector.
“I’m excited to see this company, and more just like it, continue in this incredible new field. I’m even more excited to see it happening here in Wisconsin.”
Today’s announcement comes on the heels of the passage of Senator Feyen and Representative Franklin’s bill, Wisconsin Act 165. This bill created a sales and use tax exemption to attract nuclear fusion developments.
