Madison, WI – Today, the Wisconsin State Senate passed legislation that would eliminate state income taxes for tips paid to an employee. Senator Brad Pfaff (D-Onalaska) voted in favor of the legislation, Senate Bill 36. Sen. Brad Pfaff released the following statement:
“Hard working people continue to feel the pressure of rising costs every time they go to the grocery store, pay their rent and utility bills, and receive their new health insurance premiums. That’s why I voted to put money back in the pockets of working people, as Senate Bill 36 would eliminate the Wisconsin state income tax on tips and help tipped employees take home the money they’ve earned.”
